Washington, D.C. - U.S. Senator Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) released the following statement on the Miners Protection Act.
"Due to President Obama's relentless war on coal, many Pennsylvania energy jobs have been lost. Now, thousands of coal miner retirees in our state are in imminent danger of losing their health care benefits too.
"While the Miners Protection Act is not perfect, I will vote in support of it in the Finance Committee later this month. We must move this bipartisan measure forward quickly to solve an urgent problem."
