Toomey Statement on the Vote to Confirm Robert Wilkie to Head VA

Washington, D.C. - U.S. Senator Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) issued the following statement regarding the vote to confirm Mr. Robert Wilkie as Secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA):

"Our veterans should be the first in line for the best possible care. I believe Robert Wilkie agrees with this sentiment and is a strong choice to head up the Department of Veterans Affairs," said Senator Toomey. "Mr. Wilkie has already done an admirable job building on major VA reforms recently passed by Congress. As the VA implements additional reforms, such as the VA MISSION Act, I am confident that Mr. Wilkie will continue to serve our nation's veterans well."
