Allentown, Pa. - U.S. Senator Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) issued the following statement regarding the release of Special Counsel Robert Mueller's report into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election:
"I've repeatedly stated that Attorney General Barr should be as transparent as possible about the Special Counsel's findings while being consistent with the law and longstanding Department of Justice policy. While I have not had the opportunity to review the just-released 448 page report, all Americans should be pleased that the Special Counsel concluded there was no collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.
"I am pleased that the report does not have any redactions based on executive privilege and that a version of the report with all redactions removed, except those relating to grand jury information, will be made available to a bipartisan group of lawmakers. I appreciate Attorney General Barr agreeing to testify before Congress in public next month to discuss the report.
"The Special Counsel's findings are a stark reminder that Russia's goal is to undermine the trust the American people have in our democratic process and government."
