Washington, D.C. – U.S.
Senator Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) issued the following statement on President Biden
signing an executive order allowing for American foreign aid to be used to pay
for and support abortions in other countries:
“I do not support using
American taxpayer dollars to fund or facilitate abortion. President Biden used
to hold the same position, until it became untenable within the Democratic
party. The president has talked about unity and healing, but he’s issuing a
divisive executive order allowing American taxpayer dollars to be spent on
abortions around the world, contrary to the consensus of the American people
and on the eve of the March for Life.”
A Marist Poll conducted
this month found that “more than three in four Americans oppose using tax
dollars to support abortions in other countries.”
