Washington, D.C. - U.S. Senator Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) released the following statement on the death of former Israeli prime minister and Nobel laureate, Shimon Peres.
"Like so many others, my wife, Kris and I mourn the loss of a dedicated statesman -- Shimon Peres. He was a vital part of the founding generation of the State of Israel and so committed to his nation's future that he held almost every top position in the government. His commitment to peace was unmatched. Mr. Peres once said ‘You are only as great as the cause you serve,' and he lived that statement everyday by his deep and abiding commitment to Israel's people and their security."
