Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) issued the following statement after Senate Democrats blocked additional coronavirus legislation:

“The bill put forward by Leader McConnell and Senate Republicans would have provided billions to schools and for testing, helped struggling small businesses stay afloat, given aid to displaced workers, and protected reopened schools and employers from frivolous lawsuits. By and large, these are objectives that Senate Democrats have stated they support. And yet, they unanimously voted against this measure because it does not spend enough borrowed money on unrelated projects from the left-wing wish list. For the good of the country, it’s time for Senate Democrats to stop filibustering and start legislating.”
