"Today's news reports about the infection of a Pennsylvania woman with an antibiotic-resistant superbug are concerning and warrant timely action by public health officials. My office has reached out to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the state department of health on this urgent matter, and I stand ready to help as authorities work to understand the root cause of this infection and protect the public health."
