Pittsburgh,
Pa. – Today,
U.S. Senator Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) announced that his Western Pennsylvania
Director, Matthew Blackburn, will be leaving his office at the end of the month
for an opportunity in the private sector.
“Matt
has been with me since day one and is one of my closest advisors,” said
Senator Toomey. “He has done a terrific job leading my operations in
Western Pennsylvania and has helped shape policy and constituent outreach services
for over a decade. More importantly though, Matt is a great father and friend.
My office and constituents are better off because of Matt’s service. Kris and I
wish Matt and his family the very best.”
Matt
has served as Senator Toomey’s Western Pennsylvania Director since he assumed
office in 2011. Prior to joining Senator Toomey’s Senate office, Matt worked as
a member of Senator Toomey’s 2004 and 2010 campaign staff. He also worked for
then-Representative Toomey in the U.S. House of Representatives. Additionally,
Matt worked for the late U.S. Senator Tom Coburn as a legislative assistant and
for a private sector firm that specializes in patent research.
Senator
Toomey’s Western Pennsylvania offices are located in Erie, Johnstown, and
Pittsburgh.
