Washington, D.C. -U.S. Senator Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) issued the following statement on the full committee markup in the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs of S. 2155, the "Economic Growth, Regulatory Relief and Consumer Protection Act."
"Today I supported the bipartisan Economic Growth, Regulatory Relief and Consumer Protection Act in the Senate Banking Committee to ‘right size' regulations for community banks that provide access to credit to millions of small businesses and hardworking families across the country. Though I do not agree with some of the arbitrary asset thresholds included in the bill, I am hopeful that the Banking Committee will have more opportunities to work in a bipartisan manner to improve our financial system."
