"Dan Rooney was a beloved, one-of-a-kind Pittsburgh icon. His contributions both to his country and the hometown he adored extend beyond the amazing accomplishments of his Steelers. From his efforts to help facilitate peace in Northern Ireland, to the generosity he showed to his church and numerous other charities, Mr. Rooney will be affectionately remembered by many across the world for his incredible humility, graciousness, and decency."
