WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Sen. Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) issued the following statement on continuing negotiations with Iran regarding their nuclear program as another deadline approaches:

"The Obama Administration has already made breathtaking concessions to Iran. We have given ground on inspections, on sanctions relief, on uranium enrichment capacity, and on timeframes. And yet, Iran wants even more concessions. At some point, the administration must recognize the hard fact that the Islamic Republic of Iran, the biggest state sponsor of terrorism in the world, wants nuclear weapons. A flimsy deal will make it more likely for them to achieve that goal, not less likely. Time is not on our side. Instead of making more concessions, we should make it clear to Iran that our sanctions will cripple their economy if they continue to pursue nuclear weapons."
