Washington, D.C.- The office of U.S. Senator Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) released the first in a series of videos featuring Pennsylvanians, from workers to employers, explaining how tax reform will benefit their state and community.
"If true tax reform could take place, and some of that money could be retained and put back into the company, it would be an economic driver for not only for our company but the entire country because millions of companies just like ours could continue to reinvest," said Sean Gibbs, President & CEO of Action Manufacturing in Bristol (Bucks County) in the video.
Senator Toomey and his staff have been speaking with Pennsylvania business leaders, who have described how enacting pro-growth tax reform would put more money in their workers' paychecks and facilitate growth of their companies. These businesses ranged from a small family-owned tavern in Wind Gap to a large multinational corporation headquartered in Pittsburgh.
"Since being elected to the Senate, I've repeatedly heard that our tax code is too complex, too burdensome, and not competitive. We now have an amazing opportunity and responsibility to pass tax reform that will allow us to attain the growth we've been waiting so long to achieve," said Senator Pat Toomey. "Pro-growth tax policies can make the United States a competitive place to do business and expand opportunity for all Americans. What that means is a direct pay raise when we lower the direct tax burden on hard working, middle and lower income taxpayers. It also means an indirect pay raise as more businesses are launched and expanded, creating more demand for workers."
Senator Toomey encouraged viewers to listen to what PA constituents have to say about what passing tax reform would mean to their businesses and their workers. The series of videos will be available on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube and at toomey.senate.gov.
