WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senator Pat Toomey (R-Pa.), last month, wrote two bipartisan letters to the head of the Medicare program expressing his concern about significant proposed changes to Medicare Part D plans, which could have resulted in reduced beneficiary choice and consumer protections.
Today, the Obama Administration backed away from those proposed changes to the Medicare prescription drug program. Senator Toomey's statement is below:
"I am pleased that the Administration has conceded that a number of provisions in the 2015 Medicare Advantage and Part D Proposed Rule would unfairly undermine the Medicare prescription drug program. This is a relief to Pennsylvania's seniors who already are facing Medicare cuts due to ObamaCare."
