Swearing In

Kicking off the 115th Congress

Click here for a behind the scenes look at swearing in day.

Last Tuesday, my family joined me at the Capitol as I took the senate oath of office for the second time. The oath is administered by the Vice President and serves as the kick-off to the new legislative session.

It is an honor to serve Pennsylvania in the U.S. Senate. I am grateful for the support I received from across our state and humbled by the responsibilities of this office.

Please check out the video above.

Getting Back to Work

Now that the 115th Congress has officially started, I am very eager to get back to work. We have a tremendous opportunity before us and I hope Congress and the incoming president can focus on governing and working together on a variety of important issues. I am confident that, if we take the necessary steps, our country can be more secure and have a growing economy that works for everyone, not just a select few.

A good start would include beginning the process of repealing Obamacare, establishing a pro-growth tax code, rolling back job-killing regulations, and ending dangerous sanctuary city policies.  To learn more about my priorities, check out my op-ed published in a recent edition of the Allentown Morning Call.
