U.S. Federal District Court Vacancies


Currently, U .S. Senators Bob Casey and Pat Toomey are accepting applications from persons interested in filling judicial vacancies on the Federal District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. Senators Casey and Toomey will employ the following process to fill vacancies on the Federal District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania:

• A judicial nomination advisory panel will be established in the Middle District of Pennsylvania.
• This panel will screen applicants for judicial vacancies and submit the names of qualified applicants to the two U.S. Senators.
• The panel will be made up of 20 members, including two co-chairs. Senators Casey and Toomey will each appoint nine panel members and one co-chair. The co-chairs will be: Neil T. O'Donnell of O'Donnell Law Offices and Gerald K. Morrison of Smigel, Anderson & Sacks, LLP.
• Applicants will be required to complete and submit an application.

Please note that persons who previously applied during the last Middle District of Pennsylvania judicial selection process do not need to submit a new application. However, to remain eligible for consideration, they must send a communication stating their continued interest in becoming a federal judge in the Middle District of Pennsylvania to both of the email addresses listed above by July 18, 2018 at 5pm EST.
