Allentown, Pa. - U.S. Senator Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) released the following statement after President Trump signed two executive orders to rein in excessive regulation:

"For too long, federal regulators have circumvented Congress and the formal rulemaking process by using ‘guidance' documents. These compulsory edicts have expanded the powers of the bureaucracy at the expense of the rights and freedoms of everyday Americans. Today's actions by the president will help to improve regulatory transparency and curb excessive fines that are levied on shaky legal ground. This is a good start, and I encourage the administration to go farther and work with Congress to wholly rein in the administrative state."
