Washington, D.C. - U.S. Senator Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) issued the following statement after he voted for, and a bipartisan majority of the Senate passed, legislation that he cosponsored to reauthorize the September 11th Victims Compensation Fund:

"The heroes that responded to the 9/11 terrorist attacks in New York, Shanksville, and at the Pentagon represent the very best of our country. Today's vote to strengthen the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund will ensure that the first responders, including Pennsylvanians, that develop illnesses from their service at these sites will continue to have access to important assistance. I look forward to President Trump signing this measure into law soon."
