Senator Toomey Statement on William Barr

Allentown, Pa. - U.S. Senator Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) released the following statement regarding President Trump's decision to nominate William Barr to again serve as United States Attorney General:

"President Trump has made an excellent choice in selecting Bill Barr to lead the Department of Justice. He is a widely respected and experienced attorney with deep knowledge of the department. During his prior service as Attorney General under President George H.W. Bush, Mr. Barr served with distinction, helping to uphold the rule of law and keep our communities safe. I look forward to meeting with Mr. Barr to discuss his plans for the Department of Justice moving forward."

William Barr previously served as United States Attorney General under President George H.W. Bush from 1991 to 1993. His nomination was approved by voice vote.
