Washington, D.C. - U.S. Senator Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) issued the following statement regarding the passing of Thomas "Dusty" Rhodes:

"We lost a great American today with the passing of Dusty Rhodes. From humble origins to high finance, Dusty epitomized the American dream. I knew him best as a friend, mentor, and always-happy warrior in the ongoing battle for American freedom. After his family, Dusty's greatest love was the liberty of this great republic and the opportunity it offered. He devoted untold hours, enormous talent, and considerable treasure to leading and supporting institutions that fight for our liberty. They included National Review, the Club for Growth, and the Bradley Foundation-all at once. Kris and I miss Dusty and we'll keep his loving family and his eternal soul in our prayers."
