Toomey Issues Statement on President Trump’s Address to Nation
Allentown, Pa.- U.S. Senator Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) issued the following statement tonight regarding President Trump's address to the nation:
"I commend President Trump on his unequivocal commitment to defeat the terrorists in Afghanistan. Our generals have made clear that they need additional troops and latitude to win this war. President Trump is right to make this commitment. It is also necessary to put Pakistan on notice that we will no longer tolerate terrorist havens in Pakistan. The strategy the President outlined tonight will allow the Afghan people, with support from the United States, to chart a future for themselves while ensuring that their country doesn't revert back to a terrorist sanctuary from which attacks against the United States can be launched."
